Industry Connect Mentoring Program: Student Application

The Industry Connect Mentoring Program allows current students to connect with industry professionals to help prepare for the transition from university into employment. This program aims to enhance students' knowledge and understanding of industry, and expand their professional networks. This mentoring connection can motivate and inspire students by guiding them to develop a clearer focus on what their career path can look like. It also provides mentors with the opportunity to meet and learn from upcoming talent at UniSQ.

Eligibility:

Industry Connect is open to currently enrolled students from all study disciplines and Award programs at UniSQ. You must have completed a minimum of four (4) courses in an Award program to be eligible. Acceptance into the program is also dependent on suitable mentors being available.


Type of Connections:

Industry Connect provides the option for you to be connected with a mentor for the six (6) week program comprising of communication via email, Zoom/Teams meetings, and/or phone calls. The connection types are to be mutually agreed upon with your mentor. We will provide each participant with ongoing support and guidance throughout your connection.


Time Commitment:

The time you allocate towards this program is up to you and your mentor. However, we do recommend a minimum of one (1) hour per fortnight for the length of the round.

Round 1 is now CLOSED

EOIs close: Friday 2 February

Round 1 commences: Monday 26 February

Round 1 concludes: Friday 5 April

Round 2

EOIs close: Friday 24 May

Round 2 commences: Monday 17 June

Round 2 concludes: Friday 26 July

Round 3

EOIs close: Friday 13 September

Round 3 commences: Monday 7 October

Round 3 concludes: Friday 15 November

Application Process

Step 1. Submit your expression of interest (EOI) using the form below.

Step 2. After EOIs close for each round, eligible students will receive onboarding questions to their student Umail inbox. These will need to be responded to by the designated due date. 

Step 3. You will be matched with the most suitable industry mentor, or provided with a shortlist of a number of suitable mentors for you to select from. 

Step 4. Check your student email for confirmation of acceptance into your chosen round and further program information.
